Monterey Court Jazz Fest
Monterey Court is pleased to host it's second annual Jazz Fest the weekend of Oct. 19 and 20, 2013. This year we will have 3 dynamite acts each day.
Opening the festival at 5:00 on Saturday will be the hard driving vocals of Angel Diamond and her trio. Angel is best known for her bluesy renditions of old favorites steeped in the tradition of Chicago Jazz.
Next, at about 6:45 we will slow it down and smooth it out with the incomparable Neamen Lyles, and his band. Neamen has been climbing the charts with his last two releases of smooth jazz saxophone. He is backed up by Richard Katz on keys, Doug Davis on Percussion, Yon Yakobian on Conga and bongo, and Rob Paulus on Bass.
To end the night, Flight 407 from Phoenix will take the stage at about 8:15. Having just released their first album to much acclaim, they are flying high with their jazzy blues featuring the master percussionist Mr. Chillie Willie Groove.
Sunday we will open at 4 pm. with Mr. Boogie Woogie himself Eric-Jan Overbeek and his flying fingers on piano.- Named a finalist for Dutch artist of the year in 2010 he will get you out of your seats and dancing in the aisles.
Next up at about 5:30 will be Tucson's own favorite Crystal Stark and her band. Just back from a tour of China, Crystal's awesome vocals absolutely shine!
Finally at about 7:20 we culminate in the unparalleled vocal and performance extravaganza of Solvei & her band ZumaSol. Solvei (Soulvay) is a beloved artist on two continents, known for her passionate and groovy World Fusion and jazz inspired music. She sings in Spanish, English, French and Norwegian.
She is joined by grammy nominated artists and local legends Will Clipman on percussion, Amochip Dabney on Bass/sax, & Bryan Dean, guitar. This band is world class!
Dining & Cocktail service at any table facing the stage. We have expanded our sound system to the north patio to enhance the experience for all patrons.
Security and parking attendants will be present at the venue and at our west event lot between the Riviera & Terrace Motels, just 175' from our front door. Families are encouraged to attend. Children under 12 are free.
