Thursday, November 20 at 9:30 PM Whirlwind (Richard LeMay, USA, 2008, 99 min)
Set in New York City, the story centers on a tight knit group of gay men. At first they appear to have it all - they are funny, good looking and successful. But soon a handsome stranger enters into their group and everything changes. Drake is young, hot and charming, but he has ulterior motives. What starts with Drake adding excitement to the routine of this circle of friends quickly begins to spiral out of control. Both touching and funny, this story follows the wake on one person's deliberate attempt to destroy the relationship of five men; all the while letting his own friendships unravel around him. From director Richard Lemay (200 American) and written by Emmy Award winning writer Jason Brown and starring some of the most talented actors in New York, A surprisingly subtle and honest depiction of thirty something gay men and the crossroads they must face. Winner of Best Feature Award at Atlanta Out on Film Festival
Preceded by Laundromat (Edward Gunawan & David Maurice Gil, USA, 2007, 12 min) A romantic drama-edy that follows a young gay couple, which after a chance encounter with an older man, realize that the little things mean nothing and everything when it comes to love.
