PART 2- The Architectural Issues: Impact of COVID 19 on Building Codes Energy, Systems, and More
This seminar breaks the codes into components. In Part II: Examples of circumstances published where the infections have occurred and how to circumvent such incidences. The redesign issues and compartmentalization will be discussed. Material selection, motion sensor driven doors, restrooms, will be part of no contact concepts. Restrooms will be highly impacted where the confined space and meeting the 6 ft distance rules will be difficult. An overview will highlight aspects of all designs to conclude best interior design by architects and material selections by the interior designers
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will learn how the infection process can be stopped and yet all the new codes can be applicable. Attendees will learn the importance of understanding that faster recovery of the economy can be achieved by redesigning a safe building for a safe environment for all occupants. Attendees will learn what verifications and testing can be established for the final products. Attendees will learn the new safe design concepts, how to interact with contractors and sub-contractors for a new thinking process.

Presenter: Dr. Saum K. Nour, is a licensed Professional Engineer in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical and practices in 30 States. Fellow American Society of Plumbing Engineers, active in code participation, writing articles, and co-founder of Greenerade.com and blogs at Saums Blog. Dr. Nour is a frequent lecturer at USC School of Architecture ARE sessions as well as ADA. He was the founder of the Absolute Consulting Engineers in Newport Beach 30 years ago.
