PART 1- The Architectural Issues: Impact of COVID 19 on Building Codes Energy, Systems, and More
Two-Part Webinar
Part I: Analysis and behavior of the Covid 19 virus and propagation through the building. All energy and building codes will interact with building system ventilation, the surfaces, compartmentalization, the air conditioning systems, filtration, and air ionization.
The current codes will require modifications which partially will resemble the Green Code Tier 2 and Tier 3 or LEED USGBC guidelines.
Concerns arise for the status of current buildings, alterations of existing buildings during TI, and new construction. Possible cost impact versus the legal impact of the future building occupancy may fall under the company executives or the building owner management. Any CDC or similar guidelines will be used standards to address all designs.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will learn about how the Corona Virus concerns comingle with California energy code changes impacting their architectural firm projects as it relates to building design.
Attendees will learn how verifications of the design will impact contractors and inspections as they relate to the new pandemic era. What is learned in this webinar can be used to mentor staff.
Attendees will examine how to achieve their designs in a pandemic criterion and the new California building codes and laws in their initial project design.
Attendees will learn how to address construction issues related to these blended
concerns and not to cause overrun costs and project delays further along in the construction process.

Presenter:
Dr. Saum K. Nour, is a licensed Professional Engineer in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical and practices in 30 States. Fellow American Society of Plumbing Engineers, active in code participation, writing articles, and co-founder of Greenerade.com and blogs at Saums Blog. Dr. Nour is a frequent lecturer at USC School of Architecture ARE sessions as well as ADA. He was the founder of the Absolute Consulting Engineers in Newport Beach 30 years ago.
