The Joy of Cheese Presents Alpine Nation
It's fondue time! The Joy of Cheese closes out the public tastings of 2008 with our annual survey of great alpine style cheeses. This tasting will have three segments. In segment one, we will taste some unusually good alpine style cheeses made in America. In segment two, we'll sample several soft alpine style cheese (yes Vacherin season is upon us, but I'm making no promises) and then we'll close with a series of rare and unusually grassy alpine cheese. The tasting will include program notes (which include a buyer's guide), two mystery cheeses, dark chocolate and fruit. The tastings will be held at 7 pm on November 12th and 19th (yes, Wednesdays this month, we're experimenting a little) at 10 Degrees, 121 St. Marks Place in the East Village. Tickets are $40 and there is a slight discount for using Brown Paper Tickets. For more information, contact me at thejoyofcheese@gmail.com -Martin
