LUNGS by Duncan Macmillan

With director Michael Scholar Jr. at the helm, Mitch and Murray Productions returns with another dynamite play, award winning playwright Duncan Macmillans Lungs, opening November 13th and running to November 22nd at Studio 16 in Vancouver.

The Story: In a time of global anxiety, erratic weather, and political unrest, one couple (played by real life couple Aaron Craven and Kate Craven) wants to have a child but are running out of time. LUNGS is a smart, funny and timely drama that follows a couple through the surprising life cycle of their relationship, as they grapple with questions of family and change, hope, betrayal, happenstance, and the terrible pain that you can only cause the people you love.

With 14 Jessie Richardson Award nominations to its name, Mitch and Murray Productions is a theatre company that lives on the edge, with a focus on contemporary, provocative character-driven storytelling. Recent works include the Vancouver premieres of Body Awareness by Annie Baker, Sex With Strangers by Laura Eason and Smart People by Lydia R. Diamond.

With COVID restrictions in mind, Mitch and Murray Productions offers up an elegant two hander with a real life couple unrestricted in performance possibilities. The play will be staged in the round for small audiences with seats placed in "bubble" pods around the stage with 6 feet of distance in between each seating pod. Pods will be reserved for parties sharing a household or social bubble. *Please note - masks will be required for attendance.
