Dumpling Demo
Join us as we gather around the counter to get our hands dirty and learn the age old practice of hand-folded Chinese dumplings. A tradition steeped in symbolism, families often gather to make dumplings before holidays or special occasions to bring luck and prosperity. With generations of hands at work, stuffing and folding, we will make Pork & Chive Dumplings all with ingredients pulled right from the farm.
Participants are invited to visit Slough Farm on the morning of November 1st to pick up a fresh ingredient kit stocked with produce and meats fresh from local farms and learn (from a distance) how to fold a dumpling from chef Jacqueline Foster. Later that evening, everyone will reconvene (virtually) to fold, stuff, steam, and eat their creations together.
At a time when gathering over food feels impossible, this hybrid workshop allows for safe connection over locally sourced ingredients, culinary craft, and the enjoyment of food. RSVPs are required to reserve a kit.
