HOW TO DO AN IRRIGATION ASSESSMENT November 13th, 2013- 8:30-11:00am Learn how to perform a simple yet thorough review of irrigation systems to assess scheduling efficiency, find equipment problems and opportunities for upgrades. You will receive a step-by-step guide to conduct assessments, and forms to record system details for communicating with staff and customers. Build the tools for continued troubleshooting, seasonal inspections, detailed audits, and utility rebates for system upgrades.
IRRIGATION CONTROLLERS AS A WATER CONSERVATION TOOL December 11th, 2013- 8:30-10:30am
Most irrigation controllers are loaded with features that can save customers water and money, and make your job easier. Yet these simple tools are rarely used! This class shows how to use standard controllers to grow healthier plants with less water, and how to set up "smart-controllers" that automatically adjust irrigation schedules to match weather conditions. You will take home forms that improve organization and communication, and learn about rebate programs for smart controllers, sensors, and other upgrades.
DRIP IRRIGATION: WATER CONSERVATION, INCREASED PLANT HEALTH, AND LESS LABOR January 8, 2014 - 8:30-10:30am
Drip irrigation can grow healthier plants using 50% less water than sprinklers, with less weeding and other work. But real and imagined barriers stop many contractors from using drip. Learn how good equipment choices and layout can create efficient drip systems and prevent common problems. We'll also cover scheduling and maintenance tips, design resources, and utility rebate programs.
NEW IRRIGATION TECHNOLOGIES FOR WATER CONSERVATION February 12th, 2014 - 8:30-10:30am
Learn about the latest water and labor saving tools such as improved sprinkler nozzles, valves, sensors, and controllers. These tools can make irrigation more efficient, save water and money, and your job easier. You will learn how to calculate savings over time and how to apply for utility rebate programs that help to pay for irrigation upgrades.
