From Our Home, To Yours
Ballaro Dance has continued to nurture creativity and community throughout the past six months. Hard at work in our "at home" studios, the Company has developed new work, hosted community classes and workshops, and presented performances, sharing the joy of dance. The pandemic has allowed us to find new ways to SEE, MOVE, & SHARE with our community; "From Our Home, To Yours" is our latest project.
Enjoy an evening of live dance performances (yes, we said LIVE dance!) and pre-recorded dance films from the comfort of your own living room. We will bring dance from our spaces, to yours, sharing four new works we have developed in response to, and reflective of, this challenging time in our lives.
SEE performers Nicole Daniell, Hannah Kearney, and Talia Putrino, along with some special guests from our ongoing MOVE: Community Classes, in new dances shared for the first time over a Zoom platform. Stick around after the show and SHARE a toast and some conversation with the performers. Rob Bethel will kick-off the after party on cello!
On the program:
"Forced Departure" - a new solo inspired by the photography of Francesca Woodman
"Rupture" - a collaboration with Boston-based cellist Rob Bethel
"Bird" - a new dance film by cinematographer Zoran Prodanovic
"Find Alternate Movement" - a dance/technology piece exploring the inner and external experiences throughout the pandemic
