Sunday Suppers on the Farm
The VUDE is going on the road and pairing up with a stunning new venue on Bainbridge Island, called Heyday Farm. It is a working farm that has built a beautiful event space, a new barn, a place to do cooking classes and a farmstead cheese making operation. The farms dining room is just perfect for a Sunday supper.
We are offering a series of six "Sunday Suppers" on the 2nd Sunday of every month starting in October. We will have a talented, well known chef preparing each dinner. As usual, we will create multi-course, libation-paired meals, using seasonal ingredients local to their farm. Of course, we will be traveling with our very own, Hand of God Wines to complete the meal. Join us for our Sunday Supper series. Select a date from the drop down menu, or select them all!
Bainbridge Island is such a special place, and we encourage you to make a weekend out of it. Heyday offers four very sweet rooms for an overnight "farm stay" for those that may want to come early or stay overnight after the dinner. This is an exciting opportunity to extend your VUDE experience beyond the dinner on the farm, transforming it into a weekend you and your special someone won't soon forget! For more info, visit http://heydayfarm.com/contact/ November 10, 2013 Mike Easton- Il Corvo
Ever since returning from his culinary studies in Italy years ago, Chef Mike Easton has had a passion for the craft of handmade pasta. The owner of Il Corvo pasta in Pioneer Square, Mike appreciates the attention to detail and pursuit of perfection that can only be achieved through a farm-to-table dining experience. Join Chef Mike Easton at Heyday Farm for a multi-course meal so fresh, you'll swear you've died and gone to Italy!
Along with Hand of God Wines www.handofgodwines.com, we are excited to be collaborating with Baindbridge Island's own Eleven Winery. Eleven is all about making great wine, and making it fun! They believe the better the wine, the more fun you'll have, whether you're new to wine or an expert. Their wines are made from grapes that are grown in eastern Washington, brought back to Bainbridge Island and made into wine on the island. More information at www.ElevenWinery.com. December 8, 2013 Brendan McGill- Hitchcock
Chef Brendan McGill studied at the Art Institute of Seattle in 2001, and cooked in Seattle restaurants like Il Bistro, Harvest Vine, and Crémant before joining the Via Tribunali group as Executive Chef. McGill spent 2008 traveling and cooking across Spain, France and Italy before opening Hitchcock in early 2010. Hitchcock is a farm-to-table restaurant on Bainbridge Island, focusing on farm or producer-direct ingredients. McGill and his team prepare many elements of his dishes in-house; they churn and culture butter, stuff sausages, cure meats and fish and craft pastas and pastries. The restaurant is named after the Williams-Hitchcock family, the Island's earliest homesteaders and forebears of McGill's wife, Heidi. Take advantage of this special opportunity to enjoy a feast of freshness at Heyday Farm, one of Hitchcock's local produce sources. January 5, 2014 To be announced
