Dance in the Redwoods, 2013 - San Francisco Ballet School Trainee Program - presented by Gualala Arts
Gualala Arts is delighted to once again present "Dance in the Redwoods" to its local audience. The San Francisco Ballet School Trainees are returning for a 3rd season on November 8 & 9, 2013.
I invite you to share my enthusiasm and become a follower of these young dancers as they embark upon their professional careers. Please join me in welcoming the current San Francisco Ballet School Trainees when they return to perform this November 8th and 9th.
How thrilled I am to learn that many of the blossoming young artists who previously performed here are now members of the San Francisco Ballet Company, as well as other professional companies worldwide! See below for a list of graduates who previously performed at the Gualala Arts Center Dance in the Redwoods performances and follow the links to learn of their current status.
Helgi Tomasson, Artistic Director & Principal Choreographer of San Francisco Ballet and SF Ballet School Director, created the San Francisco Ballet School Trainee Program to cultivate the most advanced students from the School as they embark upon a professional career. The program is designed to enrich their experience as performers and to enhance their stage presence, musicality, and artistic qualities.
On behalf of Gualala Arts Director David "Sus" Susalla and the entire staff, please accept my sincere expression of gratitude and thanks to all the volunteers who contribute to making this event such a huge success. Your support is invaluable!
Bringing the San Francisco Ballet School Trainees to perform at the Gualala Arts Center could not happen without the generous support of an anonymous donor as well as the many volunteers who contribute housing, food and transportation to and from rehearsals and performances. I invite you to take this opportunity to add your name to those who contribute to making these performances possible by contacting Sus at (707) 884-1138, ext. 12.
Stay tuned for the announcement of the dates of a radio interview on KTDE, when Fred Adler of Coastal Interviews will discuss the upcoming performances with Wendy Van Dyck, the Trainee Program Coordinator and former Principal Dancer with the San Francisco Ballet Company.
