Dive into the fast-paced and lucrative world of travel writing where you can sample local, exotic cultures and everything from five-star hotels to jungle treks. Eric shows you how to generate and pitch ideas and structure articles. Through an informative lecture, you'll get an overview of the industry and discover what makes a great travel piece. By the end of class, you'll have begun writing a kick-ass essay and have learned what it takes to get your name in print. Your goal will be to sell your article within a couple of weeks after the class ends! Before you know it, you'll be on the road to your first free press trip. So pack your bags and your notebook and get ready for the journey of a lifetime! Two students already sold articles after this class to Men's Journal, Red Bulletin, and a travel blog. You're next!

Q&A

Question: I'm interested in the travel writing workshop for tomorrow. What is the difference between the Article Consult level and the General level?
Answer: Hi There, In the main class you will learn everything you need to know to write and publish a travel article, get feedback from the instructor on your idea and a draft of your article. The consultation is if you want to submit a completed draft of your article and pitch letter to Eric for additional notes (a 2nd pass). You don't have to do this. It's optional but I do recommend it.
