Storytelling Bootcamp: A Spoken Workout
It's you, up on stage regaling a packed house of adoring fans with the epic tale of your first French kiss. Let Moth presenter and master storyteller Brian Finkelstein share his tips for turning life's minutia into epic tales of triumph and woe. In this one day class, you'll learn how to tell an interesting, succinct, and funny story in YOUR voice. Through fun in-class exercises, Brian will cover techniques for structuring a "big-life" story, changing tense to alter tempo, and finding the overall point, theme, and moment. By the end of the class, you'll walk away with the start of a fantastic story that you could tell in one of LA's many storytelling shows, such as The Moth, Sit-n-Spin, Taboo Tales, or Risk. HBO special to follow.
