This program consists of a brief overview of basic contract law, guidance on how to conduct the contract negotiation process, and a review of the key A/E contract issues. Attendees will learn how to read a contract.

Presenters: Michael J. Murtaugh received his undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati (BA, with honors, 1970) and his law degree from the UCLA School of Law (JD, 1973), where he represented the school in the National Moot Court competition and was elected to the Order of the Barristers. His practice focuses on the counseling and representation of design professionals, employment counseling and general civil litigation; and he has received Martindale Hubbells highest AV Preeminent rating for ethics and competence.
Michelle R. Generaux received her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame (BA, 1993) and law degree from the William Mitchell College of Law (JD, 1996), and her practice focuses is on the representation of privately held businesses, with an emphasis on architectural and engineering firms. She has extensive experience in entity selection and formation, contract drafting and negotiation, ownership transitions and mergers and acquisitions. She also practices in the areas of probate and trust administration.
Devin E. Murtaugh received his undergraduate degree from Vassar College (B.A., 2009), and his law degree from the University of Southern California (JD, 2013). He has taken numerous cases up to and through trial throughout Southern California, and especially emphasizes litigation and malpractice defense for design professionals.
