Director Statement The Heartbeat Bill in GA is changing many women's lives. As a woman who believes in "Women's Rights" this script spoke to me on so many levels, I connected with Jane and empathize. Jane's story needed to be told and I was the filmmaker that needed to tell it. I decided to film "The Deal" handheld for an organic feeling of we, as an audience was right beside Jane, holding her hand. Every shot was planned to capture authentic vulnerability portrayed by Alexandra Rose (Jane). So many stories like Jane's are happening, it's up to us to make that change and bring awareness to this subject.

Threshold director Misha Penton, Music Video, USA, English, 2020, 7:52 min. What kind of world will we choose to create together? The experimental music film is inspired by the Homeric Hymn to Demeter (c. seventh century BCE) which tells a mother-daughter passion play of abduction, loss, and renewal. Ceremonial rites enacting the myth were held at Eleusis in Greece for a thousand years before the rise of Christianity, and artists, then and now, freely interpret the story. We have very few details about the original events, but they were thought to be transformational for participants, honoring the cycle of life and offering a philosophy based in meaning and hope. Shot on location at the iconic and labyrinthine old grain factory: The Silos at Sawyer Yards, Houston, Texas. Director Biography - Misha Penton is a soprano, performance creator, experimental vocal composer, director, and media artist. Recent projects include Threshold, a site-specific experimental new opera created for the cavernous Silos at Sawyer Yards in Houston; Anecdote of the Spirit, a contemplative music work for the Rothko Chapel; and The Medusa Project with its premiere performance at the Women Composers Festival of Hartford and a film version created for Bath Spa Universitys 35 high MediaWall in the UK.
