Club Chuckles presents NEIL HAMBURGER and the TOO GOOD FOR NEIL HAMBURGER BAND -- 2 shows 7:30pm & 9:30pm
Club Chuckles presents America's Funnyman NEIL HAMBURGER (Drag City) and the TOO GOOD FOR NEIL HAMBURGER BAND plus special guest Jesse Elias.
Thursday, Oct. 17th @ Hemlock Tavern, San Francisco Two shows -- 7:30pm & 9:30pm (mostly seated) $15 adv./door
America's Funnyman Neil Hamburger is the hardest working comedian in existence, performing up to 399 shows a year internationally to critical acclaim and audience bewilderment. He's toured as the hand-picked opener for Tenacious D, Tim & Eric, and Faith No More, and his TV credits include Fox News' Red Eye, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Tom Green Live, and Jimmy Kimmel Live. On his 2011 UK tour Neil played to packed houses at the Edinburgh Fringe and completed a 10-show stint at London's Soho Theatre. His most recent album "Live At Third Man" was produced by Jack White in Nashville; an earlier Hamburger album was among SPIN's "40 Greatest Comedy Albums Of All Time."
"The worrying starts in the first minute of the show, as NEIL HAMBURGER hacks his throat clear into the microphone and rasps out his first "zinger" of a gag. It's immediately clear this won't be an easy one to watch. Hamburger is a pained figure, whimpering between jokes, sighing audibly. Hamburger is disgusted at himself, you see, for dispensing this filth but not as disgusted as he is at Britney Spears, David Carradine and the US band Smash Mouth." - The Guardian UK

JESSE ELIAS is a fresh, ripe, San Francisco-grown comic ready to be picked and enjoyed. Jesse Elias draws creative inspiration from music and literature of the 19th century and cartoons and candy of the 1990s. 2012 has been a fun year for Jesse Elias because he got to perform in festivals like Sketchfest, Bridgetown, 32nd Annual Comedy Day, and Outside Lands. Jesse Elias credits everything he knows about being funny to having studied the comedies of the ancient masters, Plautus and Terence.

Since 2003, the CLUB CHUCKLES comedy event showcase has presented a harrowing, dazzling array of stand-up, sketch, musical, and otherwise unclassifiable comedy on a more-or-less monthly basis at San Francisco's Hemlock Tavern with forays into Great American Music Hall, The Verdi Club, and the Roxie Cinema. Club Chuckles is a bated-breath mess of loving, loathing, orgasmic hilarity, painfully uncomfortable liminal moments, existential stuntwork, rank professionalism, seasonal amateurism, unannounced lafftracks, nasal spit-takes and a lot of other stuff you had no idea you'd ever sit still for until now.
"Club Chuckles: a pivotal force in giving comedians opportunities to reach new audiences - people who regularly go to rock shows but rarely step into established comedy venues such as the Punch Line or Cobb's." - SF Chronicle
