19th Annual Collage des Cultures Africaines
Diamano Coura presents the 19th Annual Collage des Cultures Africaines at the Oakland Technical Auditorium Collage celebrates the African Diaspora by recognizing that African music and dance combine sounds and movements to express life in all aspects. The African dancer and musician takes what is natural and incorporates it into their dance and sound to come up with something truly meaningful. Our festival exhibits the wholesomeness of the natural healing and collective powers of African music and dance. The master artists collaborating in tonight's performance are highly respected and renowned all over the world. they include Dimensions Dance Theater, Savage Jazz Dance, Chinyakare Zimbabwean Dance Ensemble, Diamano Coura West African Dance Company, Dam Madoune Yacine, Youssouf Koumbassa, and many other international guest artists. The event begins with an African marketplace and dinner at 6pm and the show starts at 8pm.
