Volti Season Subscription 2013/2014

Volti San Francisco's award-winning, front-edge new music chamber choir embarks upon its 35th Anniversary Season with a look back at the group's roots in the music of Benjamin Britten, and a look forward with six world premieres and four premieres of new versions or adaptations.

November 2, 2014 -- Youth & Music, as we feature the high school choirs we mentor in our Choral Institute program, sharing the stage with Volti.

November 22, 23, 24, 2014 -- Britten & Beyond -- We look back at our roots to celebrate Benjamin Britten's 100th birthday, and look forward with a world premiere from Mark Winges and two works from rising young composers Sarah Kirkland Snider and Forrest Pierce.

March 7, 8, 9, 2014 -- War & Peace -- Powerful works on the theme of war from Shawn Crouch, David Smooke and Melissa Dunphy, plus the world premiere of this year's Barlow Award winner, "Gratitude Sutra," from Forrest Pierce.

May 16, 17, 18, 2014 -- We can sing that! -- a fun new piece from beloved composer Kirke Mechem, plus world premieres from Ted Hearne, Kurt Rohde and Melissa Dunphy.
