Photography for Everyone
This fall, photographer Jesse Michener will offer three classes to regular people who want to take better pictures.
Exposure, Aperture and ISO Understanding how exposure, aperture and iso work will give you the chops to be a more confident photographer. Getting off auto mode may seem scary, but Jesse will break it all down for you in clear, easy-to-understand language so you really get it. What to bring: you, your camera, you camera's manual, walking shoes, raingear if needed, a desire for adventure. Sunday, October 20 from 10-4.
Smartphonography Annie Leibovitz said the best camera is the one you have in your pocket: your camera phone. Learning how to rock this piece of technology will be the focus of this fun and hands-on class. We'll talk composition, filters, apps and post processing as well as getting those shots off your phone and into the real world. What to bring: you, your phone, walking shoes, raingear if needed, a good joke. Sunday, November 17 from 10-4.
Family Photojournalism I swear to God if you make your kids say cheese or scream "smile!" at them, you are going to take crappy pictures. There is another way and it's all about knowing what to look for, when to pull out the ol' camera and how to build the trust of your nearest and dearest so they aren't afraid of you and your picture-taking juju. Just in time for the holidays, yo. What to bring: you, your camera, you camera's manual (for real, do it), walking shoes, raingear if needed, a white elephant gift. Sunday, December 15 from 10-4. R
