Historic Neighborhood Walking Tour
Explore the neighborhood around the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum, and hear about the people and places that were there in the 19th century when the area was primarily countryside. Through stories, maps, and images you will be transported back in time and gain a new understanding of life in this part of Manhattan in the 1800s. Tour stops will also focus on what led to the evolution of this neighborhood from rural to urban, such as new transportation and immigration.
Tour will last approximately one hour and will travel less than 1 mile. All ages are welcome.
