Sex on the Table - Creative Cooking Umami Class (with an 8 course tasting menu)

At Sex on the Table ChefFed uses organic aphrodisiacs in unexpected ways, such as White Chocolate with Cilantro, Garlic with Grapefruit, and Anise with Watermelon. In this Sex on the Table class ChefFed, an award winning chef, sought-after flavor consultant, and Michelin star winner, will teach you the art of combining the 4 basic tastes - sour, sweet, bitter and salty - to achieve the fifth taste, Umami. Throughout this interactive event, guests will plate and savor an eight course tasting menu created by ChefFed.
In this creative and unique class, ChefFed will teach you everything that goes into creating a gourmet meal rather than just following a recipe: the colors to choose in the grocery store, how to prep your food for a gorgeous presentation, ways to combine unexpected flavors successfully, and how to plate like an award winning chef. (Bonus: you'll also learn how to create delicious meals from the leftovers in your refrigerator.)
This class is interactive. Guests are able to participate and ask questions throughout. Guests also use the techniques they learn to plate the eight course tasting menu served during the class.
This class is designed for hobby cooks, as well as professional chefs. Classes are BYOB and you must be 21 or older to attend. Classes take place in a beautiful East Village loft, convenient to the F,J,M,Z,6,B,D,N,R Subway lines.
