WEEKEND OF TERROR 5 (9/25-27)-
Friday:
DEEP RED (1975)- One of Dario (SUSPIRIA) Argentos very best films comes to the super Cinemascope drive-in screen! In this superior giallo classic, a jazz pianist witnesses the brutal murder of a psychic and, along with an intrepid news reporter, is drawn into a twisted web of vicious murder and madness. Featuring music by Goblin one of the greatest nerve-jangling music scores to ever accompany a horror film!
THE PSYCHIC (1977)- Lucio (ZOMBIE, GATES OF HELL) Fulcis under-appreciated supernatural psycho killer classic comes to the big screen! A clairvoyant begins to see images of murder and death that lead her to discover a skeleton entombed in a wall which sets her off on the trail of a past murder that could lead to her own! A mega-rare theatrical screening that should NOT be missed by any Fulci fan!
TORSO (1973)- Director Sergio Martinos stylish and nasty giallo thriller stars Suzy (BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE) Kendall as a woman whose group of friends is being targeted by a sadistic hooded killer who murders with a scarf. This is the original, rarely shown, uncut Italian version of the film, being screened in 35mm with digital subtitles.
Saturday:
HOUSE ON THE EDGE OF THE PARK (1980)- From the director of CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST, Ruggero Deodato, comes this vicious and brutal thriller in the vein of LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT, that stars David Hess! Two human degenerates crash an upscale party of snobbish socialites, and the festivities soon devolve into a miasma of torture and mayhem. Not for the faint of heart!
NEW YORK RIPPER (1982)- Lucio Fulci is back for night two of WOT, and wow, is this film one of the most bonkers and sadistic Italian horror shockers of all time! This is a film Exhumed Films has been searching for for decades, and weve given up hope of ever finding a 35mm print. But, weve got the next best thing: Blue Undergrounds awesome new 4K restoration! A jaded NYC detective forms an alliance with a psychoanalyst to hunt down a sadistic killer stalking the city streets. WARNING: This is one of the most graphic motion pictures ever made. If ZOMBIE and GATES OF HELL made you sick, youll eat up NEW YORK RIPPER!
BUIO OMEGA (BURIED ALIVE) (1980)- Joe (ANTHROPOPHAGUS) DAmatos super sleazy tale of necrophilia, murder and madness. Heres another film Exhumed Films has sought for years, and we finally acquired a fully uncut, original Italian 35mm print! When his girlfriend dies, a disturbed young man who practices taxidermy, digs up the corpse and keeps it in his bedroom, much to the irritation of his strange housekeeper who holds an unhealthy affection for him. A deranged, ghoulish stomach-churner that is actually a remake of 1966s THE THIRD EYE (IL TERZO OCCHIO), and pays bloody homage to Hitchcocks PSYCHO! This extremely rare presentation will be shown with digital English language subtitles.
Sunday:
BEYOND THE DOOR (1974)- A womans pregnancy brings on strange supernatural events, and soon the mother of the unborn child begins to exhibit signs of demonic possession. Whatever is happening its pure evil, and the film is a fine example of Italian exploitation horror, including a number of genuinely spooky sequences!
BEYOND THE DOOR II (1977)- The great Mario Bava directed this in-name-only sequel, also known as SHOCK. A newlywed couple moves into a new home, but soon find themselves haunted by the ghost of the womans dead ex-husband, who has taken possession of their young child! Creepy, haunting, and with some terrific scares! Features a catchy music score by I Libra.
