Piano Series with Jimmy Briere
A gifted pianist and teacher from Montreal, Jimmy Brière performs as soloist and chamber music collaborator across Canada and in the United States, where he studied with Menahem Pressler at Indiana University. He performs the fifth of six concerts this season as part of the Franco Center's Piano Series. First Prize Winner of the Hong Kong International Piano Competition in 1997, prize winner of the Porto International Competition in 1996 and the CBC Radio National Radio Competition for Young Performers in 2001, Jimmy Brière has performed in many cities in the United States as well as in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Bulgaria and Israel. In Canada, he has performed in the country's most important halls and festivals such as the Lanaudière Festival, the Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival, the Banff Centre for the Arts, the Festival of the Sound and the Domaine Forget International Festival, among others.
