Puppet Theater on Wheels: " My First Fairytales"
Puppet Theater on Wheels is a mobile theatre run by Yelena Protsenko that allows her to bring theater, imagination, magic and enrichment into the lives of children through timeless fairytales. On October 27, Puppet Theatre on Wheels will give a presentation of 3 timeless tales in both Russian (at 11a.m.) and English (at 12p.m.). The "Kolobok", (a traditional Russian and Ukrainian pie/ small bread), suddenly becomes animated and escapes from grandmother and grandfather. "Chicken Ryaba" lays a golden egg instead of a real egg. "The Giant Turnip" is a children's fairy tale of Russian or Slavic origin first published in 1863 in the collection Russian Folk Tales, edited and published by Aleksandr Afanas'ev. All these three fairy tales are among the first ones that little ones learn in the Russian and Ukrainian cultures. Parking is available in both Plummer Park parking lots. For more info visit www.weho.org/arts, http://www.puppettheateronwheels.com/Show06.html or call 323-848-6377. Admission is FREE, but please RSVP above!
