LEAVES
"[T]he song gave way to a spoken scene between two characters, and by intermission, I was completely won over by the combination of dialogue, poetry, and song. Completely." - Aisle Say Twin Cities, http://aislesaytwincities.com/2013/11/10/leaves/
Written by Laura Leffler-McCabe & Tanner Curl Originally conceived by Bryan Grosso & Laura Leffler-McCabe Music by Candace Bilyk, Ben Mattson & the company Directed by Blake E. Bolan
Savage Umbrella is excited to announce that LEAVES, originally produced in September 2010, will be returning to the stage at the Playwrights' Center for an expanded, extended run. This remount of LEAVES will include new music to complement the original songs, re-imagined story fueled by new conversations and the timeless spirit of Walt Whitman guiding the project.
The Twin Cities Daily Planet wrote during the original run, "a poetic, musical valentine to love, and the country of my birth, where I live and also struggle to figure out who and what I am, and who and what I want my country to be. It's the kind of show I wish was running for more than just one weekend, so catch it while you still can, because it comes very highly recommended." Now that wish has come true.
