Bracero Stories

This fascinating documentary explores the controversial U.S. Mexican government Bracero Program, which granted temporary work contracts to millions of Mexican laborers between 1942 and 1964. The stories of five braceros come alive with vivid interviews and extensive archival photography. The contradicting opinions on the program's benefits and problems reflect on contemporary immigration debates.

Este apasionante documental explora el controversial programa de contratacion de braceros organizado por los gobiernos de los Estados Unidos y Mexico entre los anos 40 y 60 del siglo pasado. Las historias de cinco braceros son contadas de manera lucida a travus de entrevistas y un extenso material de archivo. Las opiniones contradictorias sobre el tema y sus problemas se vuelven relevantes en los debates sobre migracion actuales.

Uprooted

Uprooted brings attention to the more than one million Afro-Colombians violently displaced since 1990 through an intimate portrayal of Noris Mosquera and her son, who dreams of leaving the refugee shelter for a burgeoning soccer academy in Bogota. A beautifully crafted tale of struggle and resistance; a bittersweet story of loss, love, family, and dreams.

Mas de un millon de afro-colombianos fueron desplazados por la violencia desde los 90. A traves del retrato de Noris Mosquera y su hijo, quien suena con dejar el campo de refugiados donde vive para ser jugador de futbol en Bogota, este film documenta una historia de lucha y resistencia, desamparo, amor, valores familiares y suenos.
