Piano Series with Duncan Cumming
A former student of Frank Glazer and now a concert artist and teacher in his own right, Duncan Cumming will be joined by his wife, Hilary, a violinist and fellow faculty member at the University at Albany, to present a program of works for solo piano and piano-violin in the fourth of this season's six Franco Center Piano Series concerts. David, now in his seventh year on the faculty at the University of Albany, has performed concertos, recitals and chamber music concerts in cities across the United States as well as in Europe. TheKennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Merkin Halland Carnegie Hall in New York City, and the Wallenstein Palace in Prague are among the concert halls in which he has appeared. Recent concerts outside the New York capital region included a concert tour from Boston to West Virginia in March and April and a tour of the United Kingdom, France and Switzerland in May and June. His new book, "The Fountain of Youth: The Artistry of Frank Glazer," came out in 2009. As a professor, he was honored to receive the prestigious College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Award for Outstanding Teaching in 2010.
