Pine Needle Basket Pendants

Guest Instructor/Artist Susan Lester will guide students in making a small pine needle piece, approximately 2.5 to 4, that can be modified to be used as either a pendant, broach or hair barrette. Intermediate class. Experience is a plus!

The piece starts with the cabochon of your choice mounted on leather. A selection of different cabochons for students to select from will be provided. We will weave around it with pine needles using waxed linen. The addition of small beads will enhance your piece. Students can expect to finish this piece in class.

All materials are included in the cost of the class. Please bring a pair of small scissors. Some pine needle basketry experience would be helpful for this project.

This class is appropriate for ages 15+

COVID-19 Safety protocol: For the safety of teachers as well as students, we will be requiring anyone in the studio taking classes or shopping, to wear masks and keep their hands clean. Students can go outside to take breaks and get fresh air during class, but must be masked at all times inside the studio. If you anticipate this being too cumbersome please wait to register for a class at a later date when these restrictions are lifted. Classes will be limited to six students as we ease into reopening. Studio and common tools will be sanitized after each workshop.
