Bath Comedy Club - Widcombe Nights with Roger Monkhouse
A triumphant return to indoor comedy for Bath Comedy with the start of a new fortnightly Comedy Club gig at Widcombe Social!
Three top notch comedians in one night!
Covid-secure conditions incuding temperature checks, regular sanitising and cleaning, air conditioning, distancing disguised as cabaret seating, table service.
This week's star line-up:
ROGER MONKHOUSE
One of the most intellectual comics in the business, Roger Monkhouse oozes class with every syllable he utters, be it a wry observation or a witty one-liner.
A most original and distinctive act, Roger is a consummate stand-up who employs a deadly combination of charm and menace to exert a masterful control over any audience. A highly original and quirky performer, and one of the hottest names in comedy.
"His laconic delivery shields an engaging persona and an enquiring mind" - The Guardian
"Unfailingly entertaining and skilfully able to pull punchlines, seemingly, out of thin air" - Chortle
NICK PAGE
A Bath Comedy favourite for many years, Nick was recently awarded the Operational Service Medal after numerous tours in active warzones performing for military. Over the years he has been a car dealer, bouncer, parliamentary researcher, estate agent, and semi-finalist in Britain's Got Talent, before settling on a life filled with making audiences laugh and then going home to tinker with lawnmowers!
His unique style of writing and friendly delivery enables him to link things as diverse as police detention in Indonesia, a manifesto for a better world, planning permission, pizza ovens, the world's worst dog, and bovine artificial insemination so that they make sense. Highly engaging, without resorting to hackery, old jokes or pointless swearing.
"Rogueish...Bearlike and with a host of barely believable stories about life, love and brushes with the law" - Guardian
"The very best story teller on the comedy circuit" - Rhod Gilbert
LOUISE LEIGH
Funny Women Regional Finalist and badly-behaved mother of two, Louise has been making more and more people laugh since finally starting the career in comedy she had been putting off since she was seventeen.
"Polished, sparky performer able to energise a room...hilarious" ****The Wee Review
"Great confidence, great performance, great jokes!" Gary Delaney
