The More Beautiful World our Hearts Know is Possible- public talk Findhorn Foundation Community 14th November 2013
The More Beautiful World our Hearts Know is Possible The Vision and Practice of Inter- being CHARLES EISENSTEIN
In a time of mounting chaos and crumbling institutions, how can we as individuals do anything to make the world a better place?
Given the converging crises in the world today, many people sooner or later come to face frustration, cynicism or despair.
Far from being obstacles to overcome, these feelings are invitations into a deeper level of activism that includes the personal and relational. On the other side lies optimism, confidence, and vastly greater effectiveness as agents of change.
CHARLES EISENSTEIN is a speaker and writer focusing on themes of civilization, consciousness, money, and human cultural evolution. His viral short films and essays online have established him as a genre-defying social philosopher and countercultural intellectual. Eisenstein graduated from Yale University in 1989 with a degree in Mathematics and Philosophy and spent the next ten years as a ChineseEnglish translator. The author of Sacred Economics and Ascent of Humanity, he currently lives in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.
This public talk at the Findhorn Foundation Community will be a one hour talk followed by a Q & A session.
As part of moving toward a "Gift" economy, Charles has requested that his fees for the workshop come from the hearts of the participants of the event. The question will be, "What do you feel this event is worth to you?" You will be invited to offer a contribution towards associated costs, which will be collected after the event.
Please note: As part of the first visit to Scotland Charles will offer two public lectures, one in Falkland, Fife and another in Edinburgh; a one day training event in Edinburgh; for the Findhorn Foundation Community he will be a guest speaker at the 'Transitional Resiliency' course as well as offering a public evening talk. Please see other booking pages for details of booking.
