Register now at: "Saturday" is an 8-minute short film that follows a family of five as they spend a day at the beach from the perspective of their young daughter. Director Pegah Pasalar attends to the minute, fragmentary details as an unexpected crisis unfolds to produce a poetic ambiguity. "Lost in her hair (Monday)" is a 6-minute short film about an excited young Iranian girl getting ready for her first day of school. As her mother is brushing her hair and dressing her, she has varied conversations with off-frame family members that reflect cultural specificities. Director Biography Pegah Pasalar is an Iranian interdisciplinary artist currently based in Chicago. She received her bachelor's degree from the Art University of Tehran majoring in cinema editing. She is a full-merit scholarship awardee at the SAIC where she holds a master of fine arts in studio with an emphasis in film and video. The theme of her work is centered on the position of women in the family and society, social criticism of childhood and parenting, displacement and transitions. She reflects on these themes through different hybrid mediums and forms using a personal but holistic, poetic yet resonant way. https://www.pegahpslr.com/
