PWC sings holiday music from around the world including the mystical Os Mutorum, by Scotland's premiere composer James MacMillan, the Yoik-inspired rhythmic Eatnemen Vuelie (Beautiful Savior) by Norwegian composer Frode Fjellheim, and the intricate, buoyant, Venite Exultemus Domino by PWC's own "composer in spirit", Hungarian Levente Gyöngyösi. These concerts culminate in an audience favorite, Conrad Susa's festive Carols and Lullabies: Christmas in the American Southwest, a collection of carols originally from Spain, Catalunya, Puerto Rico, and Mexico, accompanied by marimba, guitar, and harp. Celebrate the holidays with an internationally incandescent flair!
Program Highlights: The mysteriously ethereal Os Mutorum by James MacMillan; the luminescent call-and-response of Hannukah Blessings by Ron Jeffers; the compelling earthy urgency of Eatnemen Vuelie by Frode Fjellheim and a newly commissioned piece by Kirstina Rasmussen based on poems by Francisco X. Alarcón, in celebration of Martín Benvenuto's 10th anniversary as Artistic Director.
