Nightfall with Edgar Allan Poe, by Eric Coble
The Penny Seats are proud to present a delicious, ghoulish evening in partnership with Vellum restaurant, in which we'll celebrate our first three years as a 100% donor-funded theater company, and look ahead to our busiest, biggest year ever.
Russ Schwartz directs the company in a staged reading of Eric Coble's Nightfall with Edgar Allan Poe, a play showcasing four of Poe's best-known works (The Tell-Tale Heart, The Pit and the Pendulum, The Raven, and The Fall of the House of Usher). Poe himself guides the audience through these works as a progression of his own memories, trying to convince us (and perhaps himself), that he is not mad. It's intimate, engaging, and, we hope, scary fun.
The show is free, but there's limited seating, so advance reservations are required. And to set the mood, order from the delicious, distinctive Halloween menu prepared just for us by the team at Vellum. As if you needed convincing.
