Alicia Svigals discusses and demonstrates the influence of Jewish, gypsy and other traditional music on Bartók and Bloch and their influence, along with their folk sources, on her score to The Yellow Ticket. As one of the world's leading klezmer fiddlers, Sviglas has collaborated with many luminaries including Itzhak Perlman and Tony Kushner. She was awarded the prestigious Foundation for Jewish Culture's 2013 New Jewish Culture Network commission for her original score to The Yellow Ticket that will be screened with live performance the following night.
