Crafted by Southern Hands presents Pride & Joy
On Friday, October 11, Warehouse Row's Crafted By Southern Hands event series will culminate in a special outdoor feature film event co-hosted by Warehouse Row and its newest addition, Tupelo Honey Cafe. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. Live music, cocktails, beer and scratch-made bites from Tupelo Honey Cafe will be served before and after the 8:00 p.m. screening. Pride & Joy chronicles the lives of dozens of individuals who dedicate their lives to growing, catching, cooking, serving or studying the depth and breadth of Southern food culture. Director Joe York will introduce the film and his work for the Southern Foodways Alliance, and stay for a Q&A session following the screening. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Southern Foodways Alliance's Oral History Initiative, which aims to inspire appreciation and understanding of the diverse food cultures of the changing American South by sharing the stories behind the Southerners who grow, create, serve and consume food and drink. Tickets are limited. Cost is $50 per single or $75 per couple.
