On Friday September 27, Improvaganza Hawaii Festival of Improv presents Grind House Stage featuring Pulp Friction, Blood Squad, and The Five Deadly Improvisers at The ARTS AT MARKS GARAGE. Show starts at 10:30pm.
This performance is a part of the 8th annual Improvaganza Hawaii Festival of Improv. Welcome to the Grindhouse stage! This block of shows will feature three genre specific shows which pay tribute to grindhouse cinema. Starting with "The Five Deadly Improvisers" improvised Kung Fu Movie, then "Blood Squad" improvised horror movie and "Pulp Friction" Improvised Quentin Tarantino movie. Show starts at 10:30pmShow Starts at 10:30 pm.
The Arts at Marks Garage is located at 1159 nuuanu ave on the corner of Pauahi and Nuuanu.

Pulp Friction - Austin TX
In certain circles writer/director Quentin Tarantino is considered a god. People often look to the gods for inspiration. Which is exactly what this group of improvisers does when they present "Pulp Friction - Improvised Tarantino"! Drawing from the movies created by the man who brought you such great cinematic achievements as "Reservoir Dogs", "Inglourious Basterds" and "Pulp Fiction", this group of actors will push the boundaries of the Art Of Improvisation as they experiment with form, flashing forward and backward in time, structure and tone to present to you an improvised story like you've never seen before!
Blood Squad - Seattle WA
The ongoing mission of Blood Squad is improvising various sub-genres of horror films based on a title given by the audience. This fast-paced, high energy show uses strong edits and descriptive asides to convey a cinematic approach to their performance. Each show is a complete story in the style of a horror film
Five Deadly Improvisers - San Francisco CA
One of this year's featured acts at Improvaganza; The Five Deadly Improvisers from San Francisco California brings to life a fully improvised Kung-Fu movie. From the classic films of Shaw Brothers to the exciting new films coming out of Hong Kong today, the show is a serious evocation of the genre and not a parody. None of the fighting is choreographed and nothing is planned. The show is an exciting homage to genre which fits perfectly in the heart of Honolulu's Historical Chinatown.
