American Fork Children's Choir
ONLINE REGISTRATION IS ENDED, PLEASE REGISTER AT CHOIR REHEARSAL
Concert Choir meets Mondays from 3-4pm at Historic City Hall (please note the time change). Fall concert themes are Night & Day and our annual Christmas concert.
Choir members learn in-tune singing and good vocal production from Director M. Ryan Taylor, who brings over 25 years of musical experience to the choir, with degrees in Vocal Performance, Music Composition and certification in Kodaly developmental music education. Taylor is the Asst. Director for the Timpanogos Chorale and has studied with Mack Willberg, Ronald Staheli and Jerry Jaccard at BYU.
This semester we introduce "pay what you can" tuition with no minimum (formerly $85 per semester), in recognition of the difficult financial times we live in and a desire to be inclusive to any child with the will to sing. Please select the number of children you are registering and enter a price per child, remembering that the choir is NOT subsidized by any outside entities and the only money to pay for music, the director and accompanist comes from tuition and donations. If you have not done so already, you will need to fill out a registration form at class.
To prevent abuse of this opportunity, we have instigated a strict 3-strike citizenship policy for disruptive behavior (see below), a class limit of 25 students, and a waiting list for available spots once registration reaches 25 (email mryan@choirworks.com if no slots are available to get on the waiting list).
Citizenship policy: Students who are disruptive in class will be asked to wait downstairs until choir is over and be sent home with a warning. If they are disruptive a third time, students will only be welcome to attend future choir rehearsals if a parent attends with them, otherwise they will be withdrawn from the choir and tuition will not be reimbursed. After teaching hundreds of students we have rarely had a student push the envelope this far, but the policy is in place to protect the rights of students who are there to learn.
