REEL WEIRD WEEKEND 2020
Its time to get into something a little weird again at the drive-in! Only one event each season brings together some truly off-the-wall, wacky and wild thematic double-bills: REEL WEIRD WEEKEND! On July 31st-Aug. 2nd, Exhumed Films and the Mahoning Drive-In will present the third annual assemblage of the absurd and the unconventional. Prepare yourself to witness human beings melt before your eyes, alien invasions of the strangest kind, and two of the most uncanny cinematic flimflams you will never unsee!
All films will be shown in 35mm.
Friday, July 31:
STREET TRASH (1987) - A liquor store owner sells some out-dated hooch to the local denizens of a New York slum, which causes extreme bodily meltdowns instead of bad hangovers!
THE INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN (1977) - An astronaut survives a problematic journey into space only to begin to degenerate into an oozing, gelatinous monster when he returns to Earth in this gruesome schlocker. Featuring special effects by Rick Baker.
Saturday, August 1:
THE ADVENTURES OF BUCKAROO BANZAI ACROSS THE 8TH DIMENSION (1984)- When a demented madman brings on an invasion of Earth by inter-dimensional beings, its up to Buckaroo Banzai, hip inventor/rock star/genius, and his gang of misfit smart asses to save the world!
LASERBLAST (1978) - A teenage outcast finds an alien weapon in the California desert and soon mutates into a rampaging killing machine disintegrating everything and everyone in his path! Produced by Charles Band, featuring stop motion effects by Dave Allen.
Sunday, August 2:
THE LAST SHARK (1980) - When a bloodthirsty great white shark begins making meals out of the tourists at a popular coastal resort, a writer (whose daughter lost a leg to the shark), sets out for revenge along with a hard bitten sea captain. This film will be presented in Italian with English subtitles.
YETI: GIANT OF THE 20TH CENTURY (1977) - A professor is hired to locate and retrieve the frozen remains of a giant pre-historic beast for research, but unbeknownst to him the discovery will be used to promote an unscrupulous industrial firm that is, until the creature thaws out and goes berserk! This film will be presented in Italian with English subtitles.
