Event
Monsoon East + Bluewater Distilling + Pacific Distillery
Chefs Sophie and Eric Banh, along with bar manager Jon Christiansen, welcome Everett's Bluewater Distilling and Woodinville's Pacific Distillery to Monsoon East for a special dinner.
The event is an excellent way to become familiar with local spirits and experience innovative cocktails alongside thoughtfully paired dishes. John Lundin, head distiller of Bluewater, and Marc Bernhard of Pacific Distillery will be on hand to talk distilling and share their wisdom.
Christiansen has created four cocktails to showcase the spirits and the Banhs have come up with some amazing dishes to complement the cocktails.
The menu for the evening is as follows:
First: Swedish East India Company: Pacific Distillery's Voyager Gin with Kronan Swedish Punsch, lime, plum bitters, and egg white Smoked Duck Breast with cucumber salad and Dijon vinaigrette
and
Faire le Bec: Bluewater Distilling's Halcyon Gin with absinthe, lychee syrup, lime, shiso leaf, and cardamom bitters Grilled Asian Eggplant with soy-pressed tofu, salted radish, and Szechuan peppercorn oil
Second: The Guillotine: Barrel aged Voyager Gin with Nux Alpina walnut liqueur, Combier Mûre blackberry liqueur, an absinthe rinse, and orange and peychaud bitters Seared Washington Coast Lingcod with fresh turmeric, dill, fresh banh hoi, and green onion oil
Dessert: Absinthe Suissesse: Pacific Distillery's Pacifique Absinthe, with orgeat (almond syrup), egg white, orange flower water, and cream Roasted Peach with forbidden rice and sesame seeds

Opened in late 2008 by sibling chef duo Sophie and Eric Banh, Monsoon East is the elegant sister restaurant to the original Monsoon located on Seattle's Capitol Hill. Creative cocktails and an award-winning wine list compliment the food, and the happy hour is spectacular. Monsoon East opens for lunch Monday Friday at 11:30am and for weekend brunch at 10 am. Happy hour is Sunday Thursday from 3pm 10pm and Friday and Saturday from 3pm 6pm and again from 10pm 11pm. Monsoon East offers local lunch box delivery.
