City of Bones

An award winning Nashua Theatre Guild production will return to Nashua for three performances with a special discount price for students.

Actor Chris Leon and director William McGregor will present "City of Bones" on Friday, September 27 at 8:00 pm and Saturday, September 28 at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm in the Janice B. Streeter Theater on 14 Court Street in Nashua.

Using a selection of writings, the play is a one-man show featuring monologues, dance, and song. Adding to the production are visuals played on the screen continuously behind the action. The overall effect is a compelling montage of the African-American male experience.

This is so compelling and effective that Nashua Theatre Guild wanted to share this with students by offering a special price of $5 each. General admission for all performances is $15.

The play was named Best Production earlier this year at the NH Community Theatre Festival and later performed at the New England Theatre Conference Regional Festival. In both festivals, Mr. Leon won acting honors and Mr. McGregor won honors for directing and technical achievement. The production has also been invited to the 2013 New Orleans Fringe Festival, being held on November 20 24, to bring to New Orleans "five days of innovative, wild, original, astonishing, excellent theater."
