The 7th Annual Living Word Festival: Race is Fiction
Race Is Fiction, the 7th Annual Living Word Festival, is a future aesthetics exposition scrutinizing the ongoing story of color and the way it is spoken, documented and performed. The hope is that race becomes the launching pad from which we can begin to soften stereotypes, dismantling or affirming our cultural and attitudinal norms about love, war, environmental justice and beyond. Featured artists will include Adam Mansbach, Dave Eggers, Jeff Chang, Regie Cabico, Jason Samuels Smith, Guillermo Gomez Pena, Jacinta Vlach, and more. These artists are included in the festival based on their histories of using race critically in the visual, literary and performing arts.
