Hill and Gully, AKA Cheese
Hill and Gully is an urban Cinderella story, set during 2008, the election year of Barack Obama and 'Change' is in the air! When the momentum that electrifies the nation, influences the lives of three generations of women; an unhappy, single mother, her agoraphobic mother, and her angry ten year old daughter, their lives are set for transformation. After, ten year old, Sara Sapphire attacks a kid who taunts her in class, she gets suspended for a week and can only return to school if her mother takes her to a psychiatrist to deal with her explosive temper. Carin Shiquita is in danger of loosing her job at Hill and Gully, the restaurant where she works, if she takes any more time off to deal with Sara Sapphire's behavioral issues. When Carin resists seeing Dr. Moses, the principal threatens expulsion for Sara which ties Carin Shiquta's hand but puts her in a challenging position with her boss. During her week of suspension, Sara Sapphire goes to work with Carin. There, photographer Caleb Foster, who is painfully shy, frequents the restaurant, hoping to take Carin's picture and ask her out on a date...not just any date, but his first date ever! Caleb has never had a date because he suffers from alogia, public fear of speaking so to all who see him, Caleb is weird. Carin shoots him down because he simply creeps her out. Encouraged by his bother, Caleb keeps asking, hoping to break through her armour with no success. But as Carin continues to take her daughter to Dr. Moses, her closed heart begins to open. Sara's does as well. Dr Moses discovers that the dysfunctional root growing in Sara, runs even deeper in her mother, Carin Shiquita and ultimately in her grandmother who suffers from agoraphobia. Through her expertise and caring, Dr. Moses becomes a huge transformational figure in the lives of the women, helping each of them to dare to wish for their deepest desires!
