Dracula del Lobo
Inspired by Bram Stoker's novel, this "Victorian Miniature Theatre" play sets the action in 1920's Argentina. Two young women spend the summer on an isolated plantation where an uncle grows coca for an American soft drink company. His goal is to protect them from the dangers of their own sexual awakening. But a greater danger lurks next door to the plantation: Pizzaro's "Mano de Sangre" Count Dracula del Lobo, who was one of the original conquistadores made immortal by an Incan blood curse.
Award winning Little Blue Moon Theatre has created a play that is spooky, erotic, and visually stunning, with the artwork of Michael Nelson and a cast of 90 within the cauldron of a 30-inch stage. "Dracula del Lobo" premiered to great acclaim at the Preetz Theatre Festival in Germany in September, 2008, continuing with performances in Cologne before returning to the U.S. This Bay Area troupe has been an international performing ensemble for nearly 30 years, featured twice at the Great Small Works Festival (NY), the Mourmelon Festival (France) as well as several National Puppetry Festivals in the USA. In 2008, they received the highest national honor for excellence in puppet theatre, UNIMA-USAs UNI Award, founded by Muppet creator Jim Henson.
Victorian Miniature Theatre was popular in the mid 1800's as a parlor entertainment. Today, this tradition is being reinvigorated by professional theatre artists in numerous national and international festivals.
Contains nudity, stake-driving, beheading, blood, and a simmering, lustful atmosphere -- all in good taste.
