Puppet Pandemic Baltimore
TWO SHOWS! 7pm or 9:30pm!! One night only! Doors open 1/2 hour before each showtime!
Like a pandemic, the passion for puppetry is spreading! The only cure -- a dose of puppet performances!
Black Cherry Puppet Theater Proudly presents, Puppet Pandemic Baltimore. Puppeteers from Richmond, Washington, New York and Baltimore will converge at Black Cherry Puppet Theater to perform short form puppet vignettes for this fundraiser benefitting the scholarship program of National Puppetry Conference at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Waterford, Connecticut. This showcase explores the infectious nature of puppets! From marionettes to papier mache mayhem, puppeteers breed new strains of creativity and present them to an audience of willing test subjects. Watch as artists redefine conventional notions of puppetry!
Sibelius Anton, a long-time resident of Baltimore, as the evening's enigmatic puppet host. A poetic soul without a voice, Sibelius will bring his dancing broom, his speaking balloons and a picnic basket of surprises to warm up the hearts of the audience during this magical night of performances. Worms, cats, wild men, jack in the boxes, slugs, super heroes and banana peels are only some of the other puppet performers rounding out the evening.
Baltimore puppeteers Valeska Populoh, Jeanine Padgett and Michael Lamason will be joined by Richmond's Heidi and Sam Rug, Washington's Eric Brooks, New York's Honey Goodenough and Broderick Jones, as well as a few others from here and there.
This show is intended for adults, but is suitable for mature youth.
