Attendees will be provided a detailed description of an innovative Demand Control Ventilation strategy that reduces the energy spend and GHG emissions from a number of types of commercial and institutional buildings including municipal buildings (libraries, community centers, etc.) and higher education facilities. Specific use cases will be discussed in the context of facility optimization, COVID related facility management strategies and energy savings.
Learning Objectives:
-Participants will understand the most common forms of Demand Control Ventilation (DCV) used in commercial, institutional, and municipal buildings and the pros and cons of each (in particular C02 Sensors).
-Participants will learn what occupancy-based DCV means and how it is implemented
-Participants will understand the fan affinity law and why it has a dramatic impact on energy consumption and Greenhouse Gas Emissions
-Participants will understand the 2019 changes to ASHRAE and how they relate to occupancy counting.
-Participants will learn new strategies for facility optimization and COVID mitigation using occupant data.
