Internationally Renowned Piano Soloist Hanny Wyss, October 19th - 7:30 pm
The renowned Swiss pianist Hanny Schmid Wyss has performed as a soloist with major orchestras in the United States, Switzerland, Holland, Germany and Romania and has recorded and appeared on TV and Radiobroadcasts in Italy, Germany, Austria, the United States, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Czech Republic and Romania. She is acclaimed for her "masterful performance" in recitals and chamber music. Also she is a distinguished honorary member of Sigma Alpha Iota. Hanny Schmid Wyss' repertoire ranges from early Baroque to the late 20th Century's contemporary music. Several composers have dedicated concertos and piano works to her, which she premiered with great success.
She tours extensively, gives Master Classes, is often invited as juror at many competitions. Regularely she is a juror for the Swiss Foundation "Dr. Robert and Lina Thyll-Dürr" who gives scholarships to students at the " Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst" in VIENNA. Hanny Schmid Wyss was also the "Program-Director" for the outstanding Thyll Concerts in Vienna. Also she was chosen to be a Juror for the famous "Rahn-Stiftung" giving scholarships to highly gifted, very anvanced students in Zürich. She is well known for her workshops (Vienna and Switzerland) to young performers in Commenting Recitals and Stage Performance.
