The presentation focuses on the process of making changes to the California Building Code (CBC), common application mistakes and significant changes to the CBC. The presentation will be conducted by an experienced code consulting professional. The topic for the presentation was based on industry interest.
Learning Outcomes: 1.Understanding what prompts updates to be made to the California Building Code and the International Building Code.
2.Understanding the triennial adoption cycle for California Building Code.
3.Application of the building code based on occupancy and use.
4.Significant changes adopted in 2019 Effective January 2020; Occupied roofs, horizontal building separation, projections, allowable openings and fire separation, occupant load, and exit access stairs.
