Wine with Wini
Wine with Wini BYOW Friday, July 24 at 7:00pm After you register, you'll receive a Zoom link.
Pour yourself a glass of wine, and join us on Zoom as we explore in detail how we created one of the Company's favorite works, Bento.
Bento uses movement to describe the concept of the box, or the sectioned container, within a box. Throughout the past 150 years or so, visual artists such as Joseph Cornell, have created 3-dimensional art objects that are boxes with shelves or boxes within boxes. These sectioned boxes often have objects in them made by others. Bento is inspired by this concept and incorporates dance phrases made by others (with their permission) with newly made dance phrases, creating dances within a dance.
We'll start with rehearsal video from the creation process, and you'll get to see some of the phrases that we borrowed and used to develop the dance.
You'll get to hear from Company dancers about what it was like to learn and perform the dance. And you'll get to ask those burning questions you've always wanted to ask (Seriously.)
