Monday Night Guest Speaker Series
Each Monday night the Playwrights Lab at Hollins University and Mill Mountain Theatre present a talk by a prominent working professional theatre artist. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing the Monday Night Guest Speaker Series will be presented live via Zoom.
This week's guest is Heather Helinsky.
Helinsky has been the resident dramaturg at the Great Plains Theatre Conference since 2010. In 2016, Helinsky received a summer fellowship to the ONeill National Critics Institute and received mentorship from Chris Jones. She was the production dramaturg for Tira Palmquists Two Degrees at the Denver Center and Andrea Harts premiere of dark is a different beast in San Francisco. For the Kennedy Center, Helinsky mentors student dramaturgs, regionally and nationally, and reads for the David Mark Cohen award. She received her M.F.A. in dramaturgy and theatre studies from the ART/MXAT Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard.
Reservations will close one hour before start time. Details for getting tickets: 1. After reserving a ticket, you will get an email with a confirmation of your reservation, but it won't include the Zoom link or event instructions.
2. YOU WILL GET AN EMAIL ABOUT AN HOUR BEFORE THE EVENT WITH THE LINK TO THE PRESENTATION and any additional directions specific to the event.
3. You can join the event up to 15 minutes before the start time and wait in the lobby. The event running time is approximately 90 minutes, including the Q&A.
