Summer Fun Writing Prompt Workshop
Summer Fun Writing Prompt Workshop
The lazy, hazy days of summer can lead to less writing - which is not bad in and of itself. But our writing muscles can become slack, so when we are mentally ready to write again, our creative muscles are not.
Im leading a very relaxed six-week Summer Fun Writing Prompt workshop based on plays that have won Tony or Olivier Awards. *You can chose to read the plays on your own or not. Regardless, you will be able to do the prompts and share.* However, if you chose to read the plays, you will see examples in your reading of the craft elements we are practicing with our prompts!
While our focus is on plays, all writers are welcome. You will be expected to respond to the prompts by writing scenes or monologues. If youve never written a play before, but just want to try, this is a casual and fun way to do it!
At the beginning of the workshop, I will email you a PDF of all writing prompts, in case you want to write outside of the workshop as well.
Every Sunday afternoon, we will meet from 3-6pm EST. The first hour will be silent writing based on that week's prompt. The next two hours will be sharing of your prompt responses (up to 10 pages) and receiving feedback.
None of the prompts are continuous so you can simply join on weeks that work for you. You will always be emailed the prompts so, even if you do not attend the workshop and share, you will have them for future use.
